彭小宁，男，博士，湖南师大医学院教授，博士生导师。湖南省病理生理学会副理事长，湖南省预防医学常务理事。湖南省医学教育科技学会临床医学教育质量评估专业委员会副主任委员。国际SCI刊物Journal of Cancer编委。曾任湖南师大医学院副院长，挂职任湖南省卫生厅长助理，对口支援吉首大学任医学院院长。从事生物信息,医学统计学和肿瘤基础研究工作已有近二十年时间，在芯片数据分析，遗传算法开发与运用，循证医学，生殖神经的肿瘤基因组数据挖掘和精准医学等领域开展研究。主持完成国家自然科学基金面上、教育部留学归国人员启动基金和湖南省自然基金等十多项科研项目。在Nature, Oncogene, Clinical Infectious Diseases,Translational Reaserch, PLoS One等杂志发表论文40余篇，研究成果被Nature Reviews Urology评为研究亮点。研究成果《幽门螺杆菌感染在肝癌发生中作用的研究》于2011年获得湖南省科技进步奖二等奖。
